Sustainability

Sustainable fashion is simply all about doing no harm to the environment and doing no harm to the people who make our clothing.
Scroll down to learn about the part we play.

ETHICAL PRODUCTION
We don't prioritise profits at the cost of ethics. We don't source from sweat shops whose oppressed workers make incredibly cheap and low quality garments which are then sold to many fast fashion brands. For us, choosing ethical factories has and will always be our biggest priority.
Our first factory is in India. Although that may sound alarm bells, it ticks all the boxes after multiple inspections. We learned that 'locally made' isn't a condition for 'ethically made'. The conditions we look for include:
⢠Wages at least 30% higher than the national minimum wage.
⢠8 hour working days with paid overtime.
⢠Adequate ventilation and lighting.

SUSTAINABLE FABRICS
Standard, non sustainanble fabrics harm people and ruin the planet. Polyester is a man made fabric. The manufacturing process releases chemical toxins which pollute the air and harm factory workers.
Standard cotton is another unsustainable fabric. Growing cotton needs large amounts of water. Only 2,700 bottles of water per t-shirt in fact. It also needs chemical fertilisers which harm the soil.
We are only use sustainable fabrics:
⢠100% GOTS certified organic cotton. Organic cotton consumes up to 90% less water during production and uses only natural fertilizers.
⢠100% recycled polyester (coming soon). This saves natural resources and reduces greenhouse gas emissions caused by the virgin polyester industry.

LIMITED QUANTITIES
We're not the typical fast fashion brand that orders huge quantities to get the biggest factory discounts and maximise profits. A fast fashion brand's unsold stock (deadstock) sometimes ends up in landfills or in incinerators. What a waste.
We order limited quantities and not because we don't have enough funding! We only order according to market demand, even if it means we have to pay more. This helps us to sell 100% with zero wastage and takes pressure off the supply chain.

RECYCLED PACKAGING
Only around 9% of the world's plastic actually gets recycled. The rest ends up at landfills where unspeakable horrors occur. Enough for you to know that plastic never ever decomposes.
So we made sure our packaging is environmentally friendlier. Our external polymailers have been used before - they contain 100% recycled plastic. Our internal packaging is part recycled.
